Letter to the Editor: Support Cindy Maietta for Fishkill Town Board
Dear Editor,
As Chairman of the Dutchess County Conservative Party, I am urging all registered Conservative Party members in Fishkill, as well as conservative-minded voters, to support Cindy Maietta in November’s Town Board election. Cindy Maietta is the only candidate who has been endorsed by the Conservative Party, and she is the true representative of our party’s values and philosophies.
Unfortunately, Cindy’s name will not appear on the Conservative Party line this November due to a deliberate effort led by the Democrat Town Supervisor, Albra. In February, Albra orchestrated a political manoeuvre by encouraging 40 of his allies—including friends, family members, and other Democrats—to re-register as members of the Conservative Party.
One of those individuals, Scott Bierce, a former active Democrat, ran in the June Conservative primary and won by a slim margin of just 16 votes, 83-67. Bierce never engaged with me or the Conservative Party Executive Committee to request an endorsement or even an interview. This deliberate hijacking of our party is a blatant attempt by Supervisor Albra to cling to power and control the Town Board, which is currently deadlocked with a 2-2 split between Republicans and Democrats.
It is crucial for voters to see through this cynical political ploy. Supervisor Albra’s actions reflect a power-hungry mindset that has no place in our community. The Dutchess County Conservative Party wholeheartedly supports Cindy Maietta as the only candidate who genuinely represents conservative principles.
Cindy Maietta’s name will appear on the Republican line this November 5th. I encourage all voters who value integrity and true conservative leadership to cast their votes for Cindy Maietta. Let’s ensure Fishkill has a representative who prioritizes the community over political gamesmanship.
Vote Cindy Maietta – Republican Line – November 5th.
Sincerely,
Don Minichino
Chairman, Dutchess County Conservative Party
Why Are Fishkill Town Board Candidates for 2025 Gaining So Much Attention?
The upcoming 2025 Fishkill Town Board elections have become a hot topic among local residents and political circles. This heightened attention stems from a mix of competitive campaigns, pressing community issues, and political manoeuvring that has intensified the race.
One reason for the spotlight is the closely contested political landscape in Fishkill. With the Town Board currently split between Republicans and Democrats, the stakes are higher than ever. Residents are eager to see how the newly elected members will shape the town’s future, particularly on key issues such as infrastructure improvements, property tax relief, and community development.
Another contributing factor is the allegations of political interference. Recent reports indicate concerns about efforts to manipulate party affiliations and influence the outcome of primaries. This has sparked debates about transparency, ethics, and the integrity of the electoral process, drawing significant public interest.
The candidates themselves are also making waves. With platforms focused on issues like fiscal responsibility, community engagement, and sustainable development, they are attracting both praise and scrutiny. Candidates like Cindy Maietta, backed by the Conservative Party, have sparked discussions about party values and the importance of electing officials who genuinely represent their constituents.
Additionally, voter engagement has surged, with residents actively participating in discussions and debates about the town’s direction. Social media and local news outlets have amplified these conversations, ensuring that the Fishkill Town Board election remains a key focus in the community.
As November approaches, the heightened attention underscores the critical nature of this election for Fishkill’s future. Voters are eager to make informed decisions, knowing that the individuals elected to the Town Board will play a pivotal role in shaping the town’s policies and priorities.
